Centaurs held the first family trail running event in the wild Jungle Trail and Pit on Sunday, 1 October 2017.
With Columbia Sportswear as headline sponsor, our the Jungle Runners were kitted out in awesome Columbia running tees as they tackled the obstacles and challenges of The Pit and Centaurs Jungle Trail. These locations are usually only open for Pit Parties or the Jungle Cross cycling events, so for many this was unchartered territory.
The one-of-a-kind, 5km event made the most of a unique jungle setting in Singapore and had three categories: Parent-Child pairs (child age 8-11), Parent-Child pairs (child age 12-15), Individual Open (ages 16+) and the Individual Masters (ages 40+). Kids and parents had as much fun as each other, helping each other out over obstacles and giving words of encouragement along the way.
Prizes were awarded to the top three in each category, and donated from our event sponsors Columbia Sportswear, Thorlo’s Socks, and UFIT. Everyone received a medal, enjoyed the Bukit Timah Community Village, and took home vouchers and offers from sponsors and partners.
Event photos were taken on the day from photographer David of VIILevent Photography, and RUN Singapore were there to capture all the action too, and gave away free editions of their popular local magazine to the runners. Zoe, winner from the Individual category and practitioner from our sponsor City Osteo & Physio, blogged about her race experience, and we watched all the post-race Youtube videos from Ferrell Fam Adventures, Andy Fu, and Team Chasing Unicorn – so great to get the runners’ perspective!!
Thanks to everyone involved. Stay tuned for more Jungle Run events happening in 2018!
