Congratulations to all age groups on another high-energy and productive term of learning and development! We trained hard, improved our fitness and stamina, knuckled down on the fundamentals and had the opportunity to put all of that onto the netball courts around Singapore.
Our brand new U9s trekked to Kallang for some friendlies against SGNA and then to AIS to take on the Sharks. Our U11s melted at the KidsNet carnival in May, visited SJI for some friendlies against SGNA, went to AIS to take on the Sharks and welcomed a super-strength visiting team from Putrajaya in Malaysia. And our U12s were kept busy when we hosted AIS for a great afternoon of tough netball, went to TTS for some friendlies against the ANZA Perth side, Kallang for some friendlies against SGNA and also welcomed a visiting team from Putrajaya (#whoelseistired?!).
All these games across Singapore gave us plenty of opportunity to do what the girls love to do – play netball. All age groups are playing some amazing netball which is the result of the hard-work and commitment shown at training. We look forward to more of this in Term 3. Going to games also meant lots of sideline fun, banter and team bonding. Our sideline wit is looking just as sharp as our game and our teams were never short of a smile.
Term 2 showed us just how competitive our girls could be: topping the wet weather and storms of Term 1, Term 2 gave us hair-curling heat and humidity that tested our strength and resilience as netballers. Having already faced everything that Singapore has to throw our way, we say, “bring on Term 3!”
Sadly we say farewell Samara to Boston, Imo to Shanghai, Maisie to Sydney and Emilia, Abigail, Ella and Eloise to the UK. Thanks to these girls for all they have done for our new and growing Centaurs Netball Club. You will always be part of our foundation.
Have a great summer break everyone and take the rest you have all earned. We have a busy term planned and look forward to seeing those of you returning on 26th August.
Well done everyone – you guys rock!
Love from your coaches
