Centaurs Rugby Term 2 Review

IMG_0756With only 10 weekends, Term 2 was action packed for all our Centaurs players. There was always something going on, and I would like to thank all the head coaches and team administrators for their assistance with managing their respective age groups. It is not an easy task, but one you do with commitment and humour! For a brief rundown of the main events of Term 2 – see below.

We hope all our players and parents have a well deserved break, and enjoy the holidays. We look forward to seeing you all back on Saturday August 26th for more training, and matches.

Yours in Rugby,
Nick Dance

Junior Rugby Club Singapore League
Centaurs U10s to U17s all managed to make finals, and we rounded up the league season with a great Finals day at TRC. Not all the results went our way, but I believe that everyone had a great day – and overall the JRCS Leagues were a great success.

U8s and U9s
This term the JRCS introduced U8s and U9s games. The idea was to get all players playing more rugby. There were 4 rounds, and great fun was had by all. Centaurs hosted one of the rounds at Turf City – and despite not having an emphasis on winning, it was great to see all players on the field and running around.

KL Tigers
What a fantastic weekend was had by all the teams that attended this tournament. A highlight on the calendar for many, this Tour got its own write up – have a read if you haven’t already.

TRC Mini Cup
Also in Term 2 was the TRC Junior Cup. U5s up to U9s. Our teams did exceptionally well. U9s led from the front with all teams being victorious, and we cannot forget the U5s – having fun with all the other rugby-playing U5s teams in Singapore.
