After a successful inaugural Jungle Run in October 2017, Centaurs Group is excited to announce two more family trail events in 2018 offering even more diversity to Singapore’s thriving activity and running calendars.
May’s Walk Edition
The first of these will be the Columbia Jungle Run (Walk Edition) on Sunday, 27 May and has been selected as the kick off father-child bonding event for Centre for Fathering’s 2018 “Celebrating Fathers” campaign (17 May to 17 June).
Centre for Fathering, renowned for their Dads for Life movement, have chosen the Columbia Jungle Run (Walk Edition) event as it fulfils the wonderful criteria of being active, outdoors, and working in a partnership as parent and child.
Tim Lambert, Race Director & CEO of Centaurs Group says of the event,
we are delighted to work once again with Columbia and to welcome the Centre for Fathering on board. Our choice to host a “Walk Edition” this May, removing the competitive element, opens up the joy of outdoor activity to a broader range of ages and abilities. We want everyone to experience our hidden gem in Singapore, the Centaurs Jungle Trail, while creating memories together.”
About the Course
The 3km course twists over untamed tracks and encounters various manmade and natural obstacles en route – so there will be many challenges to overcome together.
Free from the pressures of a race setup, participants can take pictures, nature-spot, tell stories, and spend time together under a beautiful rainforest-esque canopy.
Participants sign up as a pair and include additional children as required. Our event is open to all (male and female), from ages 6 to 75. As part of the Celebrating Fathers campaign, fathers and grandfathers are especially encouraged to sign up and make a day of it!
The Centaurs Jungle Trail will be open to ticket holders between 7am and 12noon on Sunday, 27 May 2018. Tickets for a pair will be $70 and every child added to a team will be an additional $20 (maximum family size of 4).
A competitive race event, the second Columbia Jungle Run 2018, will be held on Sunday 7 October, with course length and categories yet to be determined. More information will be announced closer to the time.
