It was a huge and successful morning for the U11s team who went to the Kids Net carnival at Kallang. We had lots of games in the heat and the experience was invaluable – both on and off the court. We managed a few wins, which for our first carnival ever, exceeded our expectations. There was also plenty of bonding – much to be proud of! A big thanks to Coach Sabina for shining the light (#thebest)
In the afternoon we had a team from Putrajaya, Malaysia visit us for even more netball. Yewwwww was it hot – but our girls showed great skill, patience and a bucket full of pride and determination to match a very experienced and well drilled team.
Our U12s took on the touring ANZA teams on Saturday morning and put on a great display of athleticism and sound game sense. It was a spectator’s delight! In the afternoon we welcomed two U13 teams from Putrajaya, Malaysia who were touring Singapore on the weekend. They were tall, well-drilled, extremely disciplined and probably more accustomed to Saturday’s heat. But they were no match for the Centaurs girls who showed great team work, support for each other and a huge dose of natural flair.
Both squads were looking red hot in the 13 plus games we played last weekend. This coming weekend we meet SGNA and AIS for even more game time and sideline antics.
Speaking of sideline antics, it’s amazing what we can learn about our teammates at a netball carnival. Did you know; Sophia Van was born in Holland, Sophia C and Darcy’s favourite colour is blue, Anoushka, Charlotte and Isabelle F were born in Singapore, Isabel C is 1/4 German, Grace was born in Hong Kong, Georgia was born in the UK, McKenzie loves braids (so do we M), Harriet was born in Ballarat and Sophie has a pet brother called James?? Great getting to know you U11s. #bitcrazy
Here are some photos to enjoy.
