A time of change: 2016 into 2017

With the end of term 3, we finish up a tremendous year of change and progress.

Looking back, we’ve enjoyed phenomenal success on the rugby and touch pitches, in friendlies and social matches, on our home turf and others’.

Through the effort of players, coaches, parents and volunteers, our Club has seen friendships blossom, players progress into wonderful sportsmen/women, and graduates (“Old Centaurians”) achieve accolades in Singapore and beyond. We’ve also been honoured to have ex-Centaurs coach Iain Fish and Brendon Ulrich foster rugby in Vietnam as the first Centaurs franchisees.

It’s been a pleasure to work closely with Cycosports in nurturing the sport of off-road cycling by providing the Centaurs Jungle Trail for five events this year; we look forward to offering even more in 2017.

Finishing up at last week’s Fun Day and Awards Dinner, we also said goodbye to coach Paul who’s done great things with the U12s this year. As each age group moves up to the next, we’ll be welcoming a new batch of U5s born in 2015. Excitingly, we are also launching an U17s team in JRCS next year.

We look forward to offering Netball to those born 2005-2007 and the construction of a new facility, located on Carpark #2, being built and installed over the Christmas break. Term 1 of 2017 will also be the first term of paperless registration through our new website, and easier access to Club and team news online.

The Group has been undergoing a number of exciting changes this year, and we look forward to celebrating more with you in 2017.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from the Centaurs Team.
