Welcome, Centaurs Rangoon!

We’re thrilled to announce that in November 2021, Wilfred Boerrigter (Old Centaurian Parent and Coach) began coaching rugby to kids in Yangon under Centaurs Rugby Rangoon. You can read Wilfred’s story about how Centaurs Rangoon came to be on their new website, https://rangoon.centaursgroup.com/centaurs-rugby-rangoon-became-reality/.

“I am extremely delighted to announce that Centaurs Rugby Rangoon (“CRR”) is up and running. Wilfred Boerrigter exudes a passion for the sport and getting kids out and active. He and his son Jilt were with Centaurs Singapore from August 2018 to December 2020, and it was with us where they found their love for rugby and the club.

Through CRR and our existing club in Vietnam, Centaurs Rugby Saigon, the Centaurs coaching ethos of nurturing a love of sport, by helping a child’s development through best coaching practises, and teaching respect, integrity and community values, is spreading through Asia. Coupling this with the satisfaction all our stakeholders glean from seeing the kids bloom and blossom through active participation in sport, and we can rest in the knowledge that we are all doing our best to help kids through these tough times, and more so in better times to come.

Rhino Rugby has assisted their development with new training balls, and their unique kit is being designed by Nick at Catalyst Sports. Not only do I thank Wilfred and his team for starting this initiative, but I also wish them the very best of luck, and look forward eagerly to hosting CRR on Tours back to Singapore, and vice versa.” – Tim Lambert, CEO Centaurs Group
